Repair Relay is software used by repair shops to manage inspections, jobs, invoices, and customer communication. This policy describes how information is handled on Repair Relay sites and customer portals. Your shop is the controller of the business records it keeps about you; Repair Relay processes that information to provide the service.
If you opt in to text updates, we store the phone number you submit, the date and time of your consent, and a log of messages sent and received (including STOP/HELP/START replies) so opt-out requests are honored immediately. Messages are delivered through Twilio, our SMS provider. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties except as required to deliver the messages you requested.
Connecting a telematics provider such as Motive is entirely optional, and only you — the fleet whose vehicles they are — can authorize it, using your own provider sign-in from your customer portal. Your repair shop never sees or holds your provider credentials.
When connected, Repair Relay reads, on a nightly schedule and whenever you press Sync:
What we do not take. The connection is read-only — Repair Relay never writes to, or changes anything in, your telematics account. We do not store GPS coordinates or trip paths, driver identities, hours-of-service or driver logs, camera or video footage, or fuel and driver-performance data. Where a provider response happens to include location coordinates alongside an odometer reading, the coordinates are discarded and never written to our records.
Your control. Access tokens are encrypted at rest and are used only to perform the reads described above. You can disconnect at any time from the Telematics card in your portal, which deletes the stored credentials and stops all further syncing immediately. Readings already recorded remain part of your vehicle's maintenance history with your shop, and can be removed through the deletion process below.
Information is used to operate the portal, show your service and billing history, send the communications you request, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell personal information.
Information is shared only with your shop and the service providers needed to run the platform, each bound by contract to use it only to provide their service and not for their own purposes. These providers include:
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. As stated above, no mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Depending on where you live, US state privacy laws — including the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA) and comparable laws in other states — may give you the right to:
Controller / processor roles. For the business records a shop keeps about you, your shop is the controller (business) that decides how the information is used, and Repair Relay acts as its processor (service provider) that handles the information only on the shop's instructions. Because your relationship is with the shop, most privacy requests are directed to and fulfilled by your shop.
How to exercise your rights. To submit a data-subject request, contact your shop, or contact Lowcountry Diagnostics LLC at [email protected] and we will route the request to the appropriate shop. We will verify your identity before acting on a request and will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf where the law allows.
Service, billing, and consent records are retained as long as needed to provide the service, for the shop's business records, and to meet legal, tax, and regulatory requirements. SMS consent and opt-out logs are retained to demonstrate that opt-out requests are honored. When information is no longer needed for these purposes, it is deleted or de-identified.
You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP or using the portal. To request deletion of other personal information, submit a request to your shop or to [email protected]. Because your shop controls its business records, deletion is carried out at the shop's direction; we will delete or de-identify the information unless we are required or permitted to retain it (for example, to complete a transaction, comply with a legal obligation, or resolve a dispute).
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify affected shops and, where required by applicable law, affected individuals and regulators, without undue delay and within the timeframes the law requires.
This policy and any dispute relating to it are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, except where a mandatory privacy law of your state of residence applies.
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision, and material changes will be indicated by updating that date.
